@Elizabeth, just pull each one to see if one is blown. Also, pick up an owners manual on eBay or a Haynes manual at auto parts stores. Cheers.

@westside van/Darryl, just hard insulation. However, the factory installed vent is wood framed around it.

Hey justin, when you cut a hole in your roof for your woodstove, what did you find between inner,& outer fibreglass???i want to ad another fantastic vent to the westside van,up front above the overhead bed,& would like a heads up before hand on what to expect,or what ill find.wondering if some sort of boxed type frame may be required between inner & outer skin to keep things the way the should be.

Hello Justin, I hope you can help me. I have a 1989 Dodge class B wide body van. I’ve been fixing it up, my dash lights just stopped working and when I checked the fuse box but nothing is labeled. I can’t find any info on the internet (maybe I’m not looking in the right place) I’m located in Chilliwack and any help you can pass on would be grateful. Also my power windows stopped working. I’m hoping it’s just a fuse. E-mail address is lily.hawk@live.com

@Pooka, just look at my last few videos, I literally just did a video talking about that. Look for the video about my solar power, it just went up a few weeks ago. Cheers. 👍

What batteries are you using? I am Canadian and just wondering the size of your power set up.

Love your vids! Just thought I'd send a pic of my van and if you can give a shout out about my youtube channel "vtwinkicker". Van build and travel vids around the U.S. 300 watts solar on the roof and no want for electricity. They supply all I need. Keep on Rockin!

@Randy Lahey, I made a video response to your question. It'll be on YouTube this week. 👍

@Tim, that's so hilarious!! I can't believe they didn't even contact me first, especially since our websites have the same name lol. Laughing pretty hard at this one 😂😂

Saw this article and it mentions you but they called you a former pro wrestler. Funny there was a wrestler named Justin Credible. http://rvlife.com/wood-stove-for-rvs/

@Warren, probably wouldn't work on that as it needs to be completely flat for two inches around the windows and they cost about $500 for each window. You're better off just having regular security mesh guards made from any fabricator.

On 2018-05-28 02:56:35.691578 by Warren
Hey where did you get those security screens
I missed your reply my bad sorry as you can see I have a lot of side windows that need to be covered. Thanks for the help

@Rampant Roamer, I totally forgot that Canadian Tire's with sani-dumps even existed until you posted this. I have never seen one in my life but heard they exist way out in the boonies somewhere lol. Certainly none of them anywhere I've ever been had a dump station, so it won't affect my life that's for sure. The gas stations (mostly Husky) that have them have shut a few down, not because of RVers but because food trucks and other commercial businesses dump their grease down them and Husky got fed up with the cost to keep unplugging them, so they've closed them and paved them over. In all honesty, I don't mind doing the weekly drive to another city or RV park to dump...it just becomes routine, and a tiny price to pay when saving $2K a month in rent lol

On 2018-05-25 01:59:21.192357 by Rampant Roamer
@Justin, i heard from a reliable source today that Canadian Tire(National) that they are considering closing all their dump stations PERMANENTLY due to misuse of RV 'dumpers'. i drove by the CT in KTown and saw why... imaging dumping your tanks into the 'hole' without using a hose... people truly ARE IDIOTS. i wish i thought about getting some video, but it was REALLY disturbing. :(

On 2018-05-24 20:13:41.694733 by Justin (mod)
@BBCoq, I think I've seen two dumpstations close in 15 years, both because the private company that runs the gas stations was tired of unplugging them from food trucks dumping their grease down them. Has nothing to do with cities or government. In fact I've never heard of any dump station provided by any city. It's just part of normal routine to drive somewhere every week to dump, I don't consider it a hardship. Just routine. Parking laws vary all over, same rules apply to me in my RV as Joe Schmoe in his SUV.

On 2018-05-24 19:22:58.556514 by BBCoq
With several gas stations and municipalities getting rid of free dumpstations for RVs is it getting harder to be an urban van dweller? How about zoning limiting overnight parking?
On 2018-05-24 01:05:57.424331 by Justin (mod)
@anonymous, whaaaatt? First off, how could even be driving a van if you didn't have a mailing address to use? LOL. Second, why would you care what a company or anyone thinks? All they care about is that you show up and work. Hell, most companies would treasure the fact you can "live" nearby and be reliable.

On 2018-05-24 01:00:42.056394 by anonymous
I know you just did a video about having a job and living in a van but my question is if you move to a new city and are looking for work while living in your van wouldn't it be harder to find a job without having a physical address. I wonder if a lot of companies would look down on a person without a fixed address.
On 2018-05-22 17:26:43.889231 by Justin (mod)
@David Lutz, thanks buddy, and I think it would depend on HOW severe the climate is. For example, I find it cozy and awesome to be in my little chalet on wheels when on the ski hills, snowing outside and toasty inside. I know people live in them in harsh climates back east, but it's a whole different ball game for sure. Probably no creature comforts like running water, but hey...in many countries people have to spend hours walking just to get water to survive. Perspective.

On 2018-05-22 17:05:23.153488 by Justin (mod)
@Anonymous, those laws exist all over the place, without them you'd have oversize buses and commercials vehicles taking up the parking and pissing everyone off. The laws directed at RVs are a direct result of bad RVers who abuse parking and stay for days at a time. Spanish Banks, and all beaches and parks, are closed at 10pm, not just to RVs but to EVERYONE. Can you imagine how fast it would turn into a campground if it wasn't? You know as well as I do there would be dozens of idiots squatting there every single night.

On 2018-05-22 16:24:30.242986 by Anonymous
About your video, Is "the man" against van life? How do you explain the fact that many municipalities have parking restrictions for "oversize" vehicles (length and/or height) which seems directed at RV's and don't forget about the hours that someone may or may not park in a parking lot. Why is there no overnight parking at Spanish Banks? What would the harm be if you parked overnight?

First, love your videos and I am a proud patron and been watching your Vanlife adventures for years. I live in Northern NJ within sight of New York City. I have been seriously thinking about living the van life for a long time. My big issue is with the temperature in the van.
Because the summers get so hot and the winters so incredibly cold I am wondering if I would spend all of my time just trying to keep the van at a comfortable temperature.
It seems like for half of each year I would have to concentrate a lot of effort on either keeping it cool enough to breathe in the summer or warm enough to not freeze in the winter.
Wondering if you would still be in the vanlife if you were in this type of situation.
Your topics lately have been amazing. Thanks for making such a cool part of your life available for all of us to watch.
KORITFW
Sincerely

David Lutz

@Daniel, never heard of either of those so I just googled them. Not my cup of tea. Plus, those are technically Class C, not B. Class C is legally anything that is built on a front cab. Class B is a full van, not a cab chassis. I like North American trucks and V8 engines, always been a bit of a gear head. Plus I simply prefer the style and size of domestic vans. KORITFW

On 2018-05-22 05:44:24.436795 by Daniel
Simple question,
Would you ever consider buying a JDM class B like a Toyota Camroad or Nissan Atlas etc? Quirky, but I would assume a major pain in the love to fix!
On 2018-05-22 05:36:45.321532 by Justin (mod)
@Barry Mkokiner, the only time I've ever seen height ticketed is if it's over 6.4m long. The length bylaw specifically states maximum 21' but only if you're over 7' tall. This means limousines and long pickup trucks are allowed.

On 2018-05-22 05:35:04.914292 by Justin (mod)
@Randy Lahey, not really possible, can't park anywhere, can't back into stalls at beach, malls, etc, and even the smallest car and smallest trailer together are longer than city parking length laws. 6.4 metres/21' max.
On 2018-05-22 05:31:35.832659 by Justin (mod)
@Adriana, they're stored inside, and that's a nice home you got!

I understand there’s a length restriction of 20 feet or so for parking on Vancouver streets. What about a height restriction? I heard vehicles parked on the street can’t be no more than 7 feet tall, but that might just be a rumor. Which areas of the city do you park, and on what streets?

Hey justin i am a huge fan and a full time rv'er in n.y i live on the suburbs near nyc in my class b. Sense i work overnights i find it very very easy to be able to find parking to get sleep during the day. It's hard to find overnight parking in ny in my location. I was wondering have you ever worked overnights to make it easier to find parking during the day? Even though I know its easy as 123 for you to find parking overnights. Do you recommend what i do for areas that hard to find overnight parking for your viewers?

What would you do if you got into an accident with your van and it was totaled? What are your plans? Do you know what shop to tow it too? Where are you going to sleep now for a few days? What is your emergency plan?

Justin, Can you do a video on the money saved and saving process. I think it would be very interesting, i know its a sensitive subject to some, but being quite honest on this is really interesting. I keep a spreadsheet which informs me for example:

"Motorhome Total Cost →" £25,824
"Days in Motorhome→" 963
Rent Saved → £33,705
"Days Before Motor-home Was Owned →" 738

Motor-homing is a bit of sacrifice (to me at least), but the financial reward really changed my perspective on life, also the freedom.

Justin, I'm just getting started converting my 2016 MB Sprinter 19ft dually high top. I only did reflectix for wall insulation - works just fine, no propane, will install Inergy Kodiac and portable solar panel, may install fantastic fan and diesel heater, everything strapped or bungie corded in for easy removal and conversion back to cargo van, has hot water from Rinse Kit, shower curtain with storage tub base, Road Pro lunch box oven, Coleman 40qt thermo cooler, check out my upper cabinets which are just 2 large pieces of travel luggage, MB seat backs recline to 180 degrees, so I wont be installing swivel, I just sit on seat back or will put a stadium seat on it if I need back rest. Was only able to attach one photo of front portion. I say Just keep it simple.

Hi Justin,
first thanks for your videos, funny and helpful. I love the cubic stove and wee are thinking of installing one in our sprinter cargo van. My husband and I, also live in Canada and we are planning to move to the West Coast. I bet the stove change the deal completely.
Do you have any troubles with the police for the wood stove? What is the legality of it here in Canada?
How did you get away with your insurance company?
I haven't found any info online about these.

My baby is my truck I've liked the van idea for a minute now, but if I was to get into it I would do a truck camper. What are your opinions on living truck campers full time. I'm at a situation were I will have to either get a new apartment before the end of the month or take the jump into the truck camper world.

On 2018-05-19 00:51:35.924906 by Justin (mod)
@Ken,
that's what those are for, interior lights from Dodge. Since ours are RV conversions they obviously don't have those lights. However, my old Xplorer did use the side door switch for floor lighting. I replaced them with LEDs along with everything else anyway so it made no difference if I left the door open and on 24/7.

Hi Justin, I watch your videos as the come in and look forward to your next everytime. I think you tell it like it is and that is refreshing to me. Thanks so much for what you do. I have a 2000 Dodge Pleasure-Way Van and have a question about all the doors on it. They all seem to have these little plunger switches that don't seem to do anything. These would normally turn and off a internal dome light or something. I see you in your videos out sitting with you back and side doors open all the time. Do these switches drain any power from your start battery? What is there function?
Thank you Ken

Dear Mr. Credible (lol)

I was wondering, in your current Islander rig you have a couch/bed set up that I am guessing you switch between when need arises... in your Explorer you had set up the back as a fixed bed. Do you miss that at all? Or is the bed set up in the Islander a non issue? Thanks for your videos, your time and hard work!

Hi Justin,
What's your opinion on class B European vans? Also, there are some (not many) layouts available, but the most common layout inside a European class B is the one that you can find in the hymer aktiv for example. Is this a layout you like or does your Islander have the optimal layout for your taste? KORITFW!

@David Norris, haha well, what you see on my YouTube channel is 1/20th of my life, a lot more women are in the van than you'll ever see. I don't play favourites. I love people, everyone in my life is awesome. In fact, one is over right now but you won't see her on YouTube. You can see her on my Instagram and Facebook pages though lol. http://www.fb.me/JCredTV

Hi Justin, just a quick question, first all your channels your videos are number one thank you for putting them up and sharing your world,-now for my question? Out of all the females you have ran into that has a RV which one is your favorite,, my favorite is Jessica, she has a sweet voice, then it will be Emily, but which one is your favorite?

@Mira, i am very new to RVlife; been full timing since January 01 of this year! i can say that full timing in winter is possible down to -20c(where i live). you just have to make sure that all your tanks are COMPLETELY enclosed and insulated. you MUST have a 4 season rated RV. if ANY of you plumbing is open below you won't be able to have any running water during the winter months. i now us a Dickinson marine heater for internal heat inside my rv. i set my rv furnace to around 10c so if i'm away from my rv for any length of time, ie: work, my pipes will not freeze. the rv is cold at 10c, but the pipes are usually ok. i was actually planning on doing a video on this subject. i am on Instagram currently and will have a yt channel setup sometime this summer. any more winterizing questions, feel free to email me@ rampantroamer@gmail.com. take care.

@Justin,
Thank for the reply. So if I was to add a fan in the bathroom the wires would to be exposed above or below the the top.

On 2018-05-14 02:02:28.771172 by Justin (mod)
@Mira, there are plenty of couples in vans much smaller than mine who would think mine is too big haha. I've had live-in gfs many times. Camera, I have many but just grab the little GoPro or cellphone when skiing. As for your winter question, was that meant for me, or Kevin Brown? I've done many videos on that question as I can't answer it.... because I live in Vancouver and we play tennis at outdoor parks during Christmas so I don't have any experience with cold temperatures to worry about. We go below freezing maybe just a few days per year at most, and just a little bit.

On 2018-05-14 01:56:25.424499 by Justin (mod)
@Phil, the xplorer I owned had solid layers of wood and hard foam insulation. Would be virtually impossible to run wires through it. Same with my Islander. Which is a good thing, trust me, that's why these types of RVs are so solid. 👍

On 2018-05-14 01:45:12.304116 by Phil
I was at your at your van gathering last summer and I should have asked you than but forgot. We had the 1990 xplorer. I want to add a fan to the bathroom but I am unsure what is in between the fiberglass layers on the roof. If I drill a hole in the bathroom for a fan will I be able to run wires between the fiberglass layer. Any advice on this type of mod I would appreciate.

@Kevin Brown, how do you manage in the winter. I'm in Winterpeg. Just bought a van but don't think winter is viable. Also, What do you do when there are snow clearing parking band?

On 2018-05-14 00:25:38.042628 by Mira
So cool you can video while skiing! I am curious. What equipment (camara, camara rig, microphone) are you using?

I believe the amount of living space a person feels they need is, of course personal preference. But from your point of view, if you were in a long term relationship, do you think the Islander's space could work for two? (assumption being your partner is also fine with van dwelling.)

Hello, I have been watching your channel for years. I think you rock. I really appreciate all the great information that you provide. I have been considering the van life for years. I have a close friend that loves to travel. He made a good living traveling. When he retired back in 1999, he decide to keep traveling. He got rid of everything and bought a van and has been on the road ever since. He turns 80 this year and has decided to buy a new van and keep on trucking. He is going to sale me his old van which is in great shape and has low mileage. It is a 1999 E150 with the 5.4 v-8 and a towing package. And like you prefer, it has no power windows or locks. BTW age is just a number. My friend is 80 but walks 4-5 miles a day and he is in better shape than most people half his age. He has been very meticulous with the maintenance. IT only has 96k miles and is it near perfect condition. I own a huge 3100 sq ft house that I inherited. I will be honest, there are many rooms in this house that I do not go in for months. Plus this house is in very bad condition and it depresses me because it reminds me of all my family who have passed away. I plan on selling the house and hitting the road early next year. My friend is planning on taking me on a tour of the USA when I hit the road. What is your opinion of my idea? Thank you once again for everything that you do. You rock !!!

Hi Justin! I recently bought a 2000 Dodge LT with just over 70K miles on it. I took my sweet time getting home from Boise, ID to Fort Worth, TX. I headed straight down to AZ, and then turned east. I found that the crosswinds and semis blasting past me caused me to have to grip my steering wheel extra tightly to hold her on the road. Do you think that putting the wheel spacers on the rear wheels will make for easier handling, OR...do you have any other suggestions? I usually got so frustrated that I'd pull off the beaten path and enjoy life for a few days before getting back on the road! haha! It made for an extra long trip, but I may not always have that luxury! I'd really appreciate your input! Thanks!! KORITFW!

Hi man,

What are the first 3 things you are looking at when u want to buy an RV ?
On 2018-05-13 08:50:14.304269 by Justin (mod)
@Trevor Lahey, it's a class B. Anything that is just a front cab cut off behind the front doors and sent to the RV maker as an empty cab chassis is a Class C. Anything that starts as a full van is a Class B. The aftermarket body design makes no difference, one is a full van, the other is only the van front cab. There are plenty of Class B's with giant overhead beds, and there are also lots of Class C's with no overhead bed at all. Cheers. I did a whole video on that already, here it is:
https://youtu.be/EJzHZBoXkzI

Is your van a class b or a class c, because it's the size of a class b but it's kinda built like a class c because of the cabover and the way it's wider

@Laurie,
I'm fifty one and I live in a van in Ontario where the winter temperatures can drop to minus thirty; and I still like living in a van. Every day is an adventure now.

Hey. Justin whats crackin' quick question have you ever met any famous rapper from the US that visit Canada, like Ice Cube, Cypress Hill Dub-C, DJ Quik, Too Short, E-40, NWA, Wu-Tang, etc
On 2018-05-08 19:59:07.758687 by Justin (mod)
@John, millions of people have mailing addresses that they don't actually live at, friends, family, post boxes etc. As for the hospital question, I don't see how that's anything special about owning an RV. There are also millions of people in cities everywhere who park their cars on the streets, if they get sick what do they do? Probably move it somewhere or store it.

On 2018-05-08 19:44:14.418893 by John
What would you do if you were suddenly taken ill and had to spend time in hospital ie leaving your RV on a street somewhere. In the UK you can't get insurance on a RV unless you have a fixed address meaning you have to rely on somebody else

@Aaron, I rotate about a dozen different spots, depending on what I'm doing for the day, whether I'm at work, visiting friends, etc.

On 2018-05-07 20:49:50.734220 by Aaron
Justin,
Since you work and live in Vancouver, how many different spots do you park at night to sleep? Do you rotate spots or do you have that go to place to hunker down for the night? Hope I explained my question correctly, thanks.

@Justin, Yep. some crackhead tried to break in using a screwdriver. I'm REALLY PISSED! anyways, other than the lock nothing else was damaged or stolen. i am very thankful that the idiot didn't use a crowbar on my basement storage doors! CCTV system with DVR ordered! they should be here next week. now all i have to do is figure out how to run the wires inside the walls without damaging anything. i really like the look of my interior walls, and i would regret screwing anything up.

@Dill Rogerz, I don't think it's smart for me or anyone to discuss if we have special storage for our guns and/or if we even have our guns with us in our RVs at all. They could be stored in a friends safe most of the time, for example. But there's just some things the internet should not know. ✌

Justin- I know you are a city man, but I do believe you can comment on recreating on Vancouver Island or other places outside of the city. Can you comment on camping and hiking opportunities?
On 2018-05-06 18:40:51.680514 by Justin (mod)
@Gipsydean, most Walmarts anywhere near the cities don't own the lots and therefore never allowed parking, because they're part of malls and such. Staying at a Walmart is a "out in the country" thing, and I'd say about 50% of them allow it, usually for 24 hours maximum. Plenty of other big box stores that also allow it, within reason. However, last place I'd want to stay is in a parking lot lol

@Chris Arnold, oh I just search eBay and Amazon for any and all LED's. Doesn't matter where you get it really, LED lighting is usually always 12 volt so just buy what floats your boat. @Rampant Roamer, what you mean keyed? Someone tried to break in? That can happen to anyone, anytime, with any vehicle (or house). I did a video a couple weeks ago on security deterrence, nothing is guaranteed but there's some things you can do to discourage thieves and crackheads.

Hi Justin!

Awesome show. I learned quite a bit from you before I actually started living full time in my van. It has been about 8 months. Recently I noticed your post about banning assault vans. I, sadly am an owner of a high capacity roof rack, military bumper van. I promise to only run over paper targets in a responsible manner.

I have a stealth van (maybe), but I don't get hassled by the cops. In your videos you state that it is odd/different to be stealthy. I agree and admit that a person can't really hide it. I have a maxxfan and 400watts of solar on the roof. I think it is pretty obvious, but others have stated it isn't. My question is, do you think the reason we don't get hassled has more to do with following the law and being respectful? Everybody that seems to be hassled has always come across as entitled to me.

I find it odd that it was one of my biggest hangups when i started this experiment, and it has been such a non issue. I've only had the knock one time, but I was too tired to answer the door and they went away without trying too hard.

On 2018-05-01 23:18:23.461406 by Dill Rogerz
Hey Justin,

Do you have an extra storage space for guns & ammo? I'm a proud gun owner over the border in the US, and I think it would be difficult to store my few rifles, pistols, ammo cans, magazines, chest rig, pouches, and body armor plates. (Just the norm) So while I own very few firearms (6) and only the necessary accessories, I still think it would be difficult to store in a class b, especially with the ammo (weight).

I love keeping all my firearms in my home, but maybe that isnt practical anymore in a class B.. Thinking maybe just 1 rifle, 1 semi auto handgun, and a backup revolver may be all I should bring. (I want to store them safely when they arent one of my holstered firearms)

I understand one could just say "use your common sense", which I will do.. but I also like to recieve feedback from those I respect.

@Nancy, well it's a standard Ram van chassis so there's tons of online discussion about the vans in the Dodge forums and stuff, and the engine and tranny are the same as in Durangos, Jeeps and Ram pickup trucks for decades so plenty of parts and anywhere can work on them. They're tough and reliable, just take care of them and they'll take care of you. Congratulations on your new-to-you Class B!

@BLUE, preserving originality? To preserve the cheap boring mass produced garbage?? Have you ever been to a van and truck show? 95% of them are handmade and one of a kind. It increases value immensely. This whole idea to keep things "stock" is a very modern generation mentality. A stock van is not built for full-time living, and furthermore there's no such thing as a stock camper van. A third party bought the van and modified it. Same way you would.

On 2018-04-26 04:07:48.725949 by BLUE
Do you think upgrading a van is like updating a house? Because a lot of people keep telling me about preserving the originality. But its not like its a 1968 camaro you know?

@Steve, hacked? Lol oh hell no. There's no internet connection involved with them or anything else on my van and I certainly wouldn't buy anything that relies on that. Not just because of hackers, but because of data, bandwidth and inevitably connection issues every time you drive. Less tech, less problems.

Couldn't help but notice your security camera's inside in the last video...I'm not a techie so just wondering if you know if they are hard to hack? Not worried about winding up on Pornhub but kind of creepy knowing someone might be watching you in your "safe" place, lol. Outside camera's might be a deterrent. It was just on the news the other day that you can be listened to remotely via Siri on your devices and also that camera's on tv's and computers can be turned on as well. I think you mentioned before that you can view your camera images via your cell phone. Sometimes I wonder if our new toys are coming at a cost of privacy and security.

Hi Justin, Keep Rock'n in a FREE World!!! :)
I have a question about driver's licenses. Not sure how it works in Canada, like how the DMV works for you guys but my question is simple, I think lol... How do you maintain a license without a physical (brick 'n' mortar) address? Especially in city van living? I'm wanting to sell my house and just take off but yet live in my city as well as travel during different times of the year and I realize after my license expires and needs renewed that there might be an issue?! Right?! Anyhooville, hope you or someone in the States might know too. Thanks and keep rock'n!!!
On 2018-04-21 22:20:48.195434 by Justin (mod)
@Christopher Almond, basically everything I put in them lol. But manufacturers won't do that because people like myself are not the target market. RVs aren't built for living in full-time and that market is very small.

@Sarah, Aristocrat was a common RV brand, from big to small, nothing particularly special in my mind about them...a friend of mine lives in a 21' Aristocrat Class C and it's fine but not unlike other brands of the same era. A lot of the "names" of RVs are simply branding... I'm sure Aristocrat is just one of several different names applied to virtually identical motorhomes all from the same maker. Things like AC and such are simply options on any RV. Tons of them have AC here as well. Just look for water damage and such, and good luck/congrats on your future home on wheels Sarah! Thank you for watching and yes I will keep the videos coming, glad you enjoy! 👍

@AJS-STUFF3, here's the thing. I don't own power tools, I use friends. I also work full-time. So what you see me do, I actually just do a little bit, say, one day this weekend, one day next month, etc. It took me months just to move my wood stove where I wanted it due to schedule conflicts, weather, etc. So if someone wants to pay me to customize a van, they'd literally have to pay me to quit my job and rent the tools and space lol.

On 2018-04-19 21:19:29.621324 by The BT Cruiser Guy
Guess what? I was looking under the Jackknife sofa yesterday in the BT Cruiser and found something I could have seen a 1/2 dozen times (or maybe never saw) and thought it was just another dark piece of black material jammed up against the wall (or maybe it fell from somewhere after the mechanic recently changed the brakes, caliphers and adjusters, and took the Cruiser for the joy ride of it's life ... everything scattered). Well, I gave that black thing a yank and it's an old Dell Laptop. Wonder if it was yours or someone else who let it slip beneath the seat. Don't have a charger to test it ... if it still works. Again, might be someone elses who came in and was sitting on the sofa. Don't know.

Q - If someone were to offer you (JustinCredible) a substantial amount of money to build a van close to what yours is (different color of course and layout inside-lol) would you do it or at least help a builder do it and design it? Thanks and KORITFW!

Hi Justin. I am looking at an Rv here in California that came from Canada. It is a 1980 Aristocrat with a Chevy van Chases. It is 17.5 feet long so it's like a over grown camper van. I am hoping that you might know something about these things because I can't find anything about them on our internet. Like for one are they like the old Bigfoot RVS as far as insulation go's? I have heard that the Bigfoot RVS have r20 insulation at the vary least. I want something super insulated. I also like that it has no air conditioning to warp the roof down like the ones made in the states. Any info would be great! Thanks so much. And keep the killer videos coming. You crack me up!

@Stephanie, the window louvers are common, I just google searched "van window louvers" and found a few places. Headlights same thing, just find out the part number of your headlights and hit up eBay or Amazon for the LED versions.

Hi Justin, what product do you use to cover your windows, the black shield guards? And what led lights to replace the regular lights in the rv? Do you have a product list or link anywhere? I've checked your older videos and can't find these answers. Thanks, Stephanie in California

@Matt, I have Justin's old BT Cruiser. Best improvement I made
was a set of Sumo Springs. It changes the whole riding dynamics especially at highway speeds.
Plus, a set of steel skid wheels on the rear hitch will save you when entering or exiting inclines in driveways or parking lots.

@Char, haha the only time I've seen a tornado is in movies. That being said, the real question is "what do people in tornado areas do when they live in houses that don't move?" Because it seems to me THEY'RE the ones who are far more at risk. But if for some reason you insist on living in an RV in Tornado Alley, umm, find an underground parkade or an overpass! Lol

@Zak I never owned an Xplorer Xcursion, the Xcursions are Class C's. The answer is I have no answer, every rig has pluses and minuses and they're all subjective. A plus for me might not be a plus for you, etc. The true answer is my current Islander is what I really always wanted, but I couldn't find one back when I bought those two rigs! It's basically right in between the previous two. It's just "right" in my opinion.
On 2018-04-17 20:52:27.644070 by ZakWhich one did you like more the BT Cruiser or the Xplorer Xcursion?
Hi Justin, I was wanted to ask, out of the two RVs you had before which did you like the most the BT Cruiser or the Xplorer Xcursion (Dora), to follow up with why with that answer?
On 2018-04-17 19:30:59.390870 by Billy Dickbags
I live in a small Class C. Legalize drugs (and tax the love out of them), I'm pro choice all the way, and we should protect our beautiful environment. That's the end of my lefty views. Otherwise, I'm way right. Liberals are complete hypocrites. Really a bummer I can't bring guns across the Canadian border. Justin, you're the only van dweller I follow. I can't stand to watch the imposters.

Is there a way to use reverse osmosis or some other water purification method or system to convert greywater into water possibly even more pure than city water(with it's clorine, floride, pharmaceutical residues, etc.) and replenish the freshwater tank? Imagine one big freshwater tank; to replace the two freshwater and greywater tanks that used to share the same space. This would extend dry camping greatly with perhaps only urine and a small amount of evaporation reducing fresh water supply much more slowly. With a composting toilet; this could perhaps eliminate the need to ever go to a dump station, again. What do you think?

Been watching dude's channel since mid-2015. Justin is great. I agree with his opinions and politics, and I respect his frank delivery. He lives his life on a PATH of his own making. Sure, he has to follow laws and pay tax just like everyone else, but he's truly free, and he clearly apreciates what he has. The anti-snowflake. The idea of less stuff = more fredom is true, and he embodies it without whining or appologizing. I live in a small class C because of Justin's channel, and I'm friggin' stoked. It's not perfect, it can be stressful at times, and it's certainly not for everyone, but I'm happier than I've been in a long time. Thanks dude.

@Zak, nothing really in this one, just standard regular maintenance checking and replacing vent seals and stuff. The nice thing about RV life is if you get a leak it usually only costs $10 for a tube of silicone to fix it. That's a few thousand dollars less than when people get leaks in their houses lol

@Sofia, not often, because in most major cities it's highly illegal. @Deacon, mine is a class B and literally has no seams like that, there's no resealing. However, it's a good idea to check windows and roof vents every year. But if you have a Class C or A, most of them are full of seams and join areas that need to be resealed annually unless you enjoy warping and rotting walls, which is common on rigs after just a few years of neglect

Justin,

Where did you get your van wrapped? I've seen your van near Capilano Mall and it looks really well done. Finding a cheap place is not a priority but finding a good installer is. Thanks in advance.
On 2018-04-07 21:33:56.495402 by Justin (mod)
@FergieGee, I strongly recommend nobody does that for city RV living. It's a dead giveaway, and stands out almost as much as when people put big tarps on their roof and park on city streets. Everyone, and I mean everyone, notices big blocks under an RV's tires and it makes you look like you've literally set up camp. I mean, do what you want, but that's the sort of thing that makes us look like squatters who park for days on end in one spot...

On 2018-04-07 21:29:25.447934 by FergieGee
@Carlos,

I use leveling blocks from Wal-Mart, $40, for 10 Lego looking blocks you arrange to get a good level. I've seen people use 2x4 scraps too so you don't have to get what I have.

@Rampant Roamer, I literally use a couple of old clunky cameras I bought for photoshoots, anything will do. If you want small, go with a GoPro, except they don't have zoom and are a little limited in functions. Just please keep the stupid fisheye wide-angle setting to a minimum, it gets real tiring seeing that on YouTube lol. Otherwise I don't really have a recommendation...just any camera that records video, which is virtually any of them. Pick up a cheap Nikon Coolpix, for example. Nikons are indestructible.

Justin, we in the US see streets lined with RVs in your area from your photos. Have you heard or seen streets like that in the US? Especially now with our moron of a President(no caps..no respect)working on building a wall and screwing up our trade agreements it wouldn't surprise me if more folks looked into van/rv living in the US since the American dream is further and further away from most Americans these days.

When you are older and more mature (and retired), are you considering road trips and more travel?

Just, I have bout a late older 1980’s Dodge Ram Van. It has a 360, and has been gutted but does have the risen top. What would you suggest for a cooler in the size of a liquor box or a bit bigger that highly efficient in keeping things cold for three or four days?

@Dave Paxton, it's a mad rush to get to the next good rv park as people realize they're few and far between. And in BC they're many private roads to boon dock on however you will be dealing with heavy commercial oil patch and logging truck traffic...and there are signs warning that there may be lethal hydrogen gas present. Other than that, make sure your rigs in good shape and enjoy the ride. You will probably need a new windshield upon your return. I have never heard of boon docking being a problem however I have never driven the Alcan in its entirety. But thousands of people do it every year and yes it's very expensive up north. And if you're going to take pics of wild life excercise common sense and pull well of the road so u dont get smoked by a big truck. And take lots of bug juice. Have a great trip

@Richard, totally depends where you'll be. Some cities have restrictions on parking vehicles over 21', and also a standard parking space is usually 20' so you end up really limiting where you can easily park. I can fit in a metered space between two cars, yours cannot. I can back in to any parking space in parking lots without taking two spaces, etc. I can navigate drive-thrus with ease since it's not too long to cause turning problems. My previous RV was 22', my current is 20', and my life is far easier just because of that difference... both in daily driving/parking and also for legality in this city.

Our new class C, 23 feet, maybe just a bit more.
Is it still possible to find parking?

@Dave Paxton,
I've never driven up on that highway, but Canada is the second largest country on earth and there's no shortage of space to camp. However, Chuck e Cheese in Langley (Vancouver burb) has decent pizza and lots of free parking.

I have heard 2 people on YT saying that the road to Alaska can be expensive and then said there is no place to boondock in Canada and campgrounds are expensive. I am working on converting a bus (I know, you like smaller vans) and the second year on the road want to do the AlCan but would rather boondock. Maybe you have heard if they have shutdown the boondocking on the AlCan???

@Billy G Pack,
I was dead set on a cardboard box, but lately I've been salivating over the giant recycling bins behind warehouses. I mean, they're perfect. And stealth. Just working on how to deal with every Thursday morning when the truck comes before I make the plunge.

DUH ! I heard you say that LOL... Do you have any Idea on your next van or home?

@Frank Faubert, Ahahaha, okay then, so my answer would not be relevant to where you live. But if I were there, I'd move to Vancouver even if it meant minimum wage. Lol keep on rockin' in the free world buddy!

Lol. I was thinking more about climate. I can leave the air or heat on in my house or apartment while I'm gone. Harder to do in a vehicle if you're going to be gone for 8+ hours. That's kind of our last stumbling block. We live in the wasteland known as Ontario and summers are +25C with 90% humidity and next to no wind while winters are -25C with 60km/h howlers. None of it is exactly "Crack a window and they'll be fine" type of weather. Yeah, I don't know why we live here either, but the job's solid and pays over 60 a year. Kinda hard to walk away from.

@Frank Faubert, I made sure she had food and water, same as anyone does with their cats in apartments and houses. Cheers.

What did you do with your cat while you were at work?

@Gabrial Garcia, Wal-Mart has cheap t-shirts and underwear so I just throw my clothes out on the weekends. Saving $2,000 on Vancouver rent each month buys a lot of underwear. Even purple underwear.

Look! You have this keen vehicle that keeps you alive, warm with entertainment and such. I didn’t see a clothes washing machine in there. You even wash your clothes bro? :)
